About the Koster Islands

Nature, sea and tranquillity — right on the doorstep

The Koster Islands consist of North and South Koster and are Sweden's westernmost inhabited islands. The islands are surrounded by Kosterfjord National Park — Sweden's first marine national park — with a unique ecosystem and one of Europe's most species-rich seas.
No cars, no stress. You get around on foot, by bicycle or by boat. In summer the islands fill up with swimmers and nature lovers, but even outside the high season Koster offers peace, walking and spectacular sunsets.
Emma's Villa & Stugor is just a short drive from the ferry terminal in Strömstad — perfect for combining island visits with comfortable accommodation on the mainland.
